Fall 2020 Schedule

Tuesday, Sept. 22, 7pm JP Williams (Special Guest)
JP Williams is a performing songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. He’s co-writer on the no. 1 hit single “Best Shot”—the song that launched the career of country music artist Jimmie Allen.
JP has performed on the Grand Ole Opry, as well as countless other notable stages throughout his career in the music industry. He writes under his own publishing company, Blonde Leading Blind Music. Previously, he was signed as a staff writer with Major Bob Music from 2011 to 2018.
In addition to songwriting, JP is an accomplished singer, songwriting workshop leader, and public speaker. Blind since age 10, he brings a unique, seasoned perspective to every opportunity.

Tuesday, Oct. 6, 7pm Dance activity with Madeline Boles
Madeline Boles is a dance student at MTSU and the President of the Ambassadors organization. She will lead the group in a movement activity

Tuesday, Oct. 20, 7pm International Sloth Day
Join the group in learning to sketch a sloth with Erica McMurray on this day designated as International Sloth Day. This will be part of an international exchange.

Tuesday, Oct. 27, 7pm Halloween Visual Art Activity with Hope McKee
Hope McKee is a young adult with Autism who is part of the Borderless Arts Teapot Diplomat program. Hope’s art work has been included in several regional exhibitions as well as international shows.

Tuesday, Nov. 10, 7pm Beginner Yoga and Meditation with Brooke (Greene) LaVoi

Brooke is a certified yoga instructor in East TN. She has studied Yoga in, and outside, of the United States. Brooke is a graduate of MTSU and a former officer of the Ambassadors organization. She will be sharing simple Yoga poses and meditation to help reduce stress.

Tuesday, Nov. 17, 7pm Being Thankful activity with Maria Hite
Maria will lead the group in a unique art activity focused on giving thanks. Maria is a student at MTSU and VP of the Ambassadors organization.

If you would like to participate in a Pen Pal Program, please let us know and we will make a connection for you.

Let’s Talk Award
This award recognizes an outstanding presentation that addresses the connection between disabilities and communication and/or the impact of the arts on in communication.

Participants email a YouTube link of a 2-3 minute speech by Nov. 17 to Lori.Kissinger@mtsu.edu. There is no set format for the speech presentation. Participants may wish to:
1) Present this in an informative manner with research and facts
2) Present this in a storytelling fashion by telling the story of the presenter or of someone else
3) Provide a creative presentation through music, dance or some other artistic medium

The presentations will be provided to a panel of Borderless Arts TN Board members who will select first and second place. First place will be $150 and a plaque. Second place will be $50 and a plaque. This competition is open to ALL members of Ambassadors which includes both MTSU students and Borderless Arts participants.
