An amazing way to start off the Borderless Arts Tennessee Meet the Masters program that this year is connected to our celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.

On Saturday morning, Monica Jackson Leister led participants in a workshop in which she discussed Norman Rockwell. She shared information about this artist’s past, discussed his journey in art (fun fact…in school his teachers did not think he had much potential), and talked about his Four Freedoms art that was a part of WWII.

The group also discuss freedoms. Each person selected a freedom that was most important to them.

Participants then created their own piece of art in a Norman Rockwell style.
This program is supported by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee through the William N Rollins Fund for the Arts, the Memorial Health Care System Foundation, Mark and Niki Antonini, and it was supported in part, by federal award number SLFRP5534 awarded to the State of Tennessee by the U.S. Department of the Treasury through the Tennessee Arts Commission
