Charlie Calderon continued Borderless Arts Tennessee’s Transition education program at Bartlett High School. The participants are exploring how various cultures use the arts to tell their stories. They used an art technique then to tell their own stories. In this residency, each participant was able to express their feelings and emotions using the indigenous symbols of each of the cultures that were presented to them today which were the Puerto Rican culture and the Totem Teluric Pole representing the Taino. Three of the participants wanted to create their own story. One student elected to share what her emotions mean to her in the face of the loss of a dear friend.
