The Borderless Arts TN Teapot Diplomat Visual Arts program will once again offer the Meet the Masters program in which participants learn about famous artists, their art techniques, and create art using those techniques.  This year the program will have a special twist by also being connected to art made during WWII as Borderless Arts will be honoring Veterans throughout 2024 with special emphasis on the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.

On Feb. 24 at 10am, Monica Leister will offer a Zoom workshop as part of the Borderless Arts TN Meet the Masters Program focused on Ghost Armies. Bernie Bluestein along with other artists were recruited to be in the “Ghost Army” whose purpose was to deceive the Nazis and save the lives of thousands of US soldiers. These artists created elaborate illusions featuring inflatable tanks, jeeps, and artillery to provide a false sense of America’s numbers and troop movements to intimidate the enemy forces.

Participants will learn about artists such as Bernie Bluestein and the Ghost Army of WW2. Participants will create a miniature tank out of recycled cardboard and paper.
