The Estelle Condra Education Collaborative is in its final year of a 3-year pilot program. In this program, Bartlett Elementary in West TN, Norris Elementary in East TN and Union Elementary in Middle TN have each been receiving 4 artist residencies. The residencies have been in dance, literature, music and visual arts. The goal of the residencies has been to enhance literary, math and science curriculum for 3rd graders using the arts.
We began our 2025-26 residencies with Les Kerr and Tammy Vice visiting Bartlett using songwriting.
This past week was a very busy week. Les and Tammy continued their songwriting workshops at both Norris and Union. In addition, Brooke Hammond offered Visual Arts at Bartlett and Jennifer James provided Dance at Union.
This week Erin Walter will visit Bartlett with Dance. We will then continue with more residencies in November and culminate the programs in January.
We are working with the Education Department at Middle Tennessee State University to gather assist in developing both a written article for publication and to design a presentation based on the data that we have been gathering over the past 3 years.
