The Horse Heritage project has been an in-depth program for the Teapot Diplomats. The participants learned about horses and photographed them at Lead Me On Farm. Then the group toured the historic horse plantations and make marionettes. The group has also learned how to sketch horses. Now they are at the point of making their main horse art projects.
In addition, the participants were provided with activity books. In these books, the participants had to record what they have learned, take a quiz, and produce some art. All of the participants who completed their booklets received a prize….a horse head measuring tape.
However, the most thorough and creative booklet was selected to receive a special prize, a book on horses. This prize when to Jennifer Scallorn.
This program is supported by Mark and Niki Antonini and a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
