The Sumner Songbirds program is a look at the music of Sumner County TN while learning about architectural design. Participants will be creating a sketch and then a model for a concept for a memorial to the music of Sumner County.

The program begins with a video with Trish Fitzgerald discussing her husband, Ernie Fitzgerald, who was a builder who went blind, but still managed to built Conway Twitty’s home and Twitty City.

On Saturday, the participants took the next step as Barry Young shared information on the musicians of Sumner County.

Special thanks to Dee Kimbrell for serving as lead artist; Cassetty Architects; Barry Young and the Sumner Tourism; Public Consulting Group, Christian Kissinger, and Trish Fitzgerald.

Funding is provided by an ABC grant of the Tennessee Arts Commission, the Memorial Foundation, and Mark and Niki Antonini for their support of this program.
